The Larry Lee Cheshier Band is Arkansas' Southern Rockin' Outlaw Country Party Band. With a professional sound and awesome harmonies, you WILL BE on the dance floor.
A brief history on Larry Lee and the Band:
Larry Lee Cheshier, lead vocals/rhythym guitar, is a Northeast Arkansas native from Jackson County. Larry Lee has been around music most of his life. At age 3 he won his first musical competition singing Johnny Cash's Folsom Prison Blues while playing the "twice as big as he was" guitar in open E. Not long after that, his father, Larry Sr., moved the family to Nashville to pursue his dream of making it in the music business. His father had quite a successful career writing songs for some of the Nashville legends like Ernest Tubb, George Jones, Lynn Anderson, Joe Stampley, Ray Stevens, and more. Needless to say, Larry's father is one of the greatest infuences in his life.
During Larry's high school years, his family moved back to Newport, Arkansas on Highway 67, now known as the Rock n Roll Highway. Newport and Jackson County is well known for its musical history, having been home to several clubs where greats such as Elvis, Jerry Lee Lewis, Roy Orbison, and Johnny Cash played. It was also the home of rockabilly legends Billy Lee Riley and birthplace of the great Sonny Burgess, who is Larry's cousin.
In Jackson County, Larry Lee experienced many of the adventures reflected in his songs. He enjoyed all that the small town life had to offer, such as backroading, bonfires with friends at various places such as "Skillet Ditch", football and baseball games, first love, and deep friendships that came and went. His upbringing in the small, close-knit community contributed to the down to earth, compassionate person Larry Lee is today.
Following college, several careers, and a failed marriage, Larry Lee ended up back in Arkansas. A few years of karaoke on Thursdays at the Gold Star Club in Newport is where he got the encouragement from friends to start a band. A few years of Open Mic/Singer Songwriter nights at Studio Joe in West Little Rock is where he got the idea and encouragement from his now wife, Vicki, to pursue his dream and follow his heart with the music. So Larry Lee along with his father, Larry Sr., and brother, Starr, decided to compile their original songs and released his first CD, Mile Marker 110. Each song holds a special meaning to Larry Lee and was written based on "real life" experiences.
Since the release of the CD, Larry Lee has worked hard to put together a very talented group of professional musicians to form the Larry Lee Cheshier Band. The band takes pride in its amazing harmonies, rockin' lead guitar, unique keys, a steady rockin' beat, and overall awesome sound. They are currently playing around the central Arkansas area and looking to perform wherever the road leads. If you haven't heard the band "live" then you haven't heard them!
